près deux tentatives de présenter le Cadbury/Pepsi 100, cette épreuve a
finalement eu lieu, dimanche après-midi à l’autodrome St-Eustache. Il
faut croire que ces deux remises ont permis à Jacques Laperle de bien se
préparer, car il en a profité pour récolter son deuxième succès de la
saison dans le Championnat Prolab-CASCAR.

CASCAR veteran Al Turner won the biggest stock car race in
the country on Sunday afternoon at Delaware Speedway Park. The Barrie, ON racer started on the outside of the front row for the CARQUEST 300 and took the lead on lap 210 of the 300 lap chase. His Blue Streak Intrepid was the class of the field for the remainder of the race as Turner earned his second CASCAR checkered flag of the season at the London, ON area half-mile oval, and his fourth of the 2000 season. Following the race, there was hardly a dry eye in the crowd of 13,783 as Turner was joined atop the podium by his son James, who underwent emergency surgery for a large tumor in his back in late July. Finishing second to Turner was hometown favourite Steve Robblee CASCAR's winningest driver of all time. Driving the CANUSA Ford Taurus, Robblee started near the back of the 39-car field but fought his way forward, battling intense heat inside of his car in the caution-filled race. Lorsque la programmation de l’Autodrome St-Eustache revient en matinée,
le dimanche, c’est un signe évident que la fin de saison approche à
grands pas. Cependant, il n’y a rien de décidé dans les divers
championnats tant celui Prolab-CASCAR que ceux de l’ANCA. Dimanche
après-midi, lors de la Coupe Mathers, trois des meneurs dont Jacques
Laperle en CASCAR pourraient bien être délogés du premier rang.

Samedi après-midi à compter de quinze heures, les pilotes des classes
Récent Modèle, Tourisme et 4 Cylindres ont rendez-vous à l’autodrome
Granby afin de prendre part à l’Enduro Prolab 200, un événement annuel
qui suscite beaucoup d’intérêt.

After 10 races and 1,600 laps on the 2000 International Pro Stock Challenge (IPSC) series season, the championship battle will be decided this Saturday in the Parts For Trucks 150 at Scotia Speedworld. Three drivers are poised and ready to duke it out for the title, which is worth $30,000, but just as important the bragging rights inherent with being the champion. Maine's Ben Rowe, New Hampshire's Andy Shaw and Nova Scotia's John Flemming sit one, two and three, respectively, with just 34 markers separating them.
